Don't keep your fire fire box too clean. Keep some ash within the stove but ensure air is able to pass through from the ash pan.

On our larger models (645/678/730/850), heat the contraflow channels. Refer to our contraflow channel page here.

Use firelighters/small kindling within the fire box or lighting material of your choice to light the stove.

Use small wood at start of first Winter burn. Small kindling only required for initial winter light. When your stove is running 24/7, small kindling is not neccessaryas stove will remain warm when in use every day.

Keep door slightly ajar to provide extra air to glass. Wipe door glass occasionally  for first 10mins condensation to ensure that smoke doesnt stick. This will ensure your glass remains clean.

When stove is warm, smoke should be pulling  through contraflow channels/flue, if not, open ashpan 2mm.

Ensure stove gets to top of best temperature of 200°c. This should take around 1.5 hours. If this is taking longer, there could be some troubleshooting problems with lighting your stove, please get in touch with our office to discuss further.

Refuelling your stove

Ensure that you don't open the door too quickly, this will cause a vaccum effect and smoke can spill out into the room.

Open door about 2mm and allow some air to pass behind the door and then open the door fully.

Close ash pan once the fuel/wood in wrapped in combustion.

Ensure ash pan is opened when refuelling to allow fuel to combust.
